International Coatings Co. recently introduced its UltraMix Pigment Dispersion (PD) color system. The color system consists of 19 non-phthalate, intermixable high-pigment dispersions and two mixing bases for mixing Pantone color simulations, and altering or boosting hues, tints or shades of existing color intensities. The accompanying formulation software is available online. In addition to the pigment dispersion bases offered with the series, PD01 mixing base and PD51 matte mixing base, UltraMix PD color system can be mixed with virtually any base. The system saves money and increases print shop efficiency by allowing printers to order and stock fewer custom colors, thus eliminating ordering and shipping delays, as well as overhead costs, according to the company.
