Vastex International has added a new "E-200" entry-level model to its recently-introduced line of LED Exposing Units. It accommodates screens up to 21 x 24 inches (53.3 x 70 cm) OD, having image areas up to 15 x 18 inches (38.1 x 45.7 cm).
The LED (light emitting diode) light pack produces fine detail, including halftones up to 85 lines per inch (33 lines per cm), and exposes emulsions 10 to 15 times faster than comparable fluorescent exposing units. In addition, it consumes significantly less electricity than metal halide lamps of equivalent surface area, and can last over 50,000 hours, reducing operating and maintenance costs. It also starts instantly, provides uniform lighting intensity cycle-to-cycle, remains cool during operation, and lacks potentially dangerous high-voltage power supplies and inefficient shutters.
Standard features include a powerful vacuum hold down with rubber neoprene blanket for tight screen-to-film contact, fully-automatic operation for consistent exposures, shatter-resistant glass, and 120-volt or 240-volt power supply. CE certified, the unit is offered with optional EU and UK cord sets.
