The 2013 Product of the Year competition was a real challenge for the judges. Great technologies and targeted consumables were well represented in Orlando. The prestigious industry competition is a “must see” for imagers who are eager to stay on the leading edge — and be early to market — with new capabilities for their customers. Some of the 2013 highlights include: VUTEk’s GS Pro-TF system inks designed for imaging on polystyrene, PETG, polycarbonate, PVC and acrylics. These inks are well suited to thermoforming applications, as well as imaged products for the automotive market. Open AIR Clear adhesive vinyl is an economical, bubble-free self-adhesive vinyl suited to window and wall applications. It’s removable and repositionable for up to six months. AlumiGraphics Grip is an aluminum foil-based substrate that can be imaged and applied to a wide variety of surfaces including concrete, brick, vinyl flooring, even asphalt. The finished install looks like the image was painted on the surface. Seemee 3P Premium Backlit material has a matte white surface to maximize color brilliance using all standard printing technologies. The product is designed to accommodate high printing speeds while maintaining color brilliance. The material is energy efficient for backlit installations.
